INsite Architecture hosted AIA Houston event!
Charles Browne, AIA Houston President, and Rusty Bienvenue, AIA Houston CEO, were delighted by the presentation hosted by INsite Architecture for the first of the “Thinking Outside the Loop” series on June 12, 2013. Thank you to all who attended the event!
Antonio Flamenco, AIA, presented some current master planning projects and emphasized that the development outside the 610 loop has a direct impact on the quality of life for all Houstonians. Well master planned communities can have a positive impact with the creation of lakes, parks, trail systems, amphitheaters, integrated to community centers, schools, shopping, dining, retail, entertainment, office and medical centers. Architects working on projects outside the loop have a direct impact on the day to day life of those living within or near those communities and have the opportunity to enhance those daily experiences. Antonio emphasized how these developments connect to major transportation corridors now and how the transportation may change in the future. The suburban communities are beginning to help architecturally define Houston and are critical for the vitally of the greater Houston area.
Towne Lake, a Caldwell Companies development located in the Northwest Houston area was highlighted in the presentation by INsite Architecture. INsite Architecture is the planner for this award winning Towne Lake community. INsite Architecture is also the architect for The Boardwalk at Towne Lake (a mixed use project with restaurants and retail on the water) and The Lakehouse (the amenity center of Towne Lake), which is planned to break ground in 2013.
